Generate UUID v4 and v7, ULIDs and NanoIDs in bulk, then copy them as a list, CSV or SQL insert.
Generated by your browser’s CSPRNG. This page sends nothing anywhere and stores nothing.
Which one should I use?
- Storing rows in a database
- UUID v7 or ULID. Both begin with a timestamp, so new rows land at the end of the index instead of scattering across it the way v4 does.
- A public URL or a share code
- NanoID. Twenty-one characters against a UUID's thirty-six, with enough entropy that guessing one is not a strategy.
- Anywhere the value might be read aloud
- ULID. Crockford's base32 leaves out I, L, O and U, so there is no way to confuse a one with an ell.
- Anything else
- UUID v4. It is the one every language, database and library already understands.
